  • Mechanisms of drug absorption, distribution and elimination
  • Pharmacokinetic (PK) and pharmacodynamic (PD) relationships
  • Major PK and PK/PD models:
    • Non-compartmental PK analysis
    • Compartmental PK analysis
    • Physiologically-based PK modeling
    • Population PK modeling
    • PK/PD models (Emax, indirect response, etc.)
    • PK/PD modeling of biopharmaceuticals
  • PK and PK-PD modeling and its use in pre-clinical and clinical development:
    • choice of the model
    • model evaluation and assessment
    • prediction of  disposition and pharmacological activity in animals and humans
  • Hands-on analysis of specific case studies using scientific software (freely-available program that can be used by the participants after the course)
  • Demonstration of professional software that can be used for PK and PK analysis
  • Preliminary analysis of the participant’s own PK and PD data (optional)

If necessary this course can be translated and given in English
