Dr. Noam Emanuel is a biologist, drug-delivery scientist, inventor, and biotechnology entrepreneur with 36 years of experience in drug-delivery systems (DDS).
His work began with liposomes and immunoliposomes in the laboratory of Prof. Yechezkel Barenholz, a pioneer in liposomal drug delivery and a key figure in the development of Doxil®, the first FDA-approved nanodrug.
Over the following years, he worked across several drug-delivery technologies, development programs, and patented inventions, building a broad foundation in formulation and controlled drug release.
This accumulated experience ultimately converged at PolyPid, where he served as founding scientist and first CEO, and later as Chief Scientific Officer and board member.
He invented and led the development of the PLEX™ platform for prolonged, controlled local drug delivery and of D-PLEX100 to prevent surgical site infections.
