A concise description of the applicant's research (maximum two pages)

A detailed overview of the applicant's academic and professional achievements

Selection Criteria
The selection committee will evaluate applications based on the following criteria

Novelty and Originality

The innovation and uniqueness of the research within the field

Scientific Achievements

Accomplishments and contributions within analytical chemistry

Significance of the Research

The societal impact and relevance of the work

Award Ceremony

The prize will be presented during Isranalytica 2025, taking place on January 14-15, 2025, at the David Intercontinental Hotel in Tel Aviv.

Outline of Prof. Eli Grushka

Professor Eli Grushka served as a Full Professor at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem from 1978 until his passing in 2016.

Renowned for his contributions to analytical chemistry, he was a symbol of academic excellence and innovation in the field. Throughout his career, he mentored numerous graduate students, shaping the next generation of scientists. His legacy is one of scientific brilliance, personal integrity, exemplary social grace, and a deep love for humanity.

In memory of the late Professor Eli Grushka, his family has established an award to support students at the start of their scientific careers who are pursuing advanced degrees in the field of analytical chemistry. This award aims to encourage and nurture the next generation of researchers in the discipline that Prof. Grushka dedicated his life to advancing.

Accordingly, the Israel Analytical Chemical Society and Grushka’s family invite nominations for an award honoring the memory of Professor Eli Grushka, recognizing an outstanding student pursuing studies in analytical chemistry.

 

Among his accomplishments were:

  • Editorial board member of a large number of professional journals in analytical chemistry and separations.
  • One of the editors of the prestigious series advances in Chromatography.
  • Edited several books in the field of chromatography and published a large number of scientific articles.
  • Member of the organizing committees of professional conferences in the field of analytical chemistry.
  • Researcher, teacher and supervisor of many students for a qualified degree and a doctorate in analytical chemistry.
  • He devoted much of his time to research in the field of analytical chemistry.
  • One of the founders of the Israel Analytical Chemical Society, and the founder of Isranalytica, the annual meeting of the Israel Analytical Chemical Society.
